Roofing and siding services
Every job we take on, from one leak to a full flat roof.
Start with the job you actually have and go straight to the page that covers it. City Roofing & Exteriors has worked on Calgary roofs since 2011 and takes on 200 to 300 jobs a year, from one leak on a garage to a $3.5 million flat roof for Ice River Springs.
What Calgary homeowners say about us
Our reviews do the explaining. These are word for word from public Google reviews.
That is 4.8 stars across 186 Google reviews. Read all of them on Google before you call anyone, including us.
Which roofing job do you have?
Pick the one that sounds like your roof. Each page covers what the job involves, what it usually costs and how we do it.

A building roof: commercial, condo or rental
Landlords, condo boards and property managers usually call with a leak over tenants or a roof they are unsure about. You get one contact and a written scope you can take to your board. Trevor, our Commercial Operations Manager, runs these jobs.

A flat roof that leaks or holds water
Most flat roof leaks start at one spot: a drain, a seam, a vent or the flashing at a wall. Standing water days after rain is a warning sign too. A typical flat roof leak repair runs $350 to $2,500.

A flat roof that needs replacing
A flat roof at the end of its life, or a new garage or addition. We install two-ply torch-on on most flat roofs, with TPO or EPDM where they suit the roof better, and the work carries a 10-year workmanship warranty.

A worn-out shingle roof
Curling shingles, granules in the eavestroughs or repairs that keep adding up. A shingle roof on a typical Calgary two-storey runs $5,000 to $15,000, and most house roofs are done in one day.

A drip, a stain or missing shingles
The stain on the ceiling is rarely right under the hole, because water runs along the deck before it drops. We find where it gets in and tell you plainly whether it is a repair.

Damage after a hailstorm
Dents in the eavestroughs, bruised shingles or a leak after a storm. We have documented more than 1,200 hail claims since 2014, and almost every insurance scope we see is missing items.

Siding that is cracked, faded or due
One crew and one schedule can cover the roof and the siding. We install vinyl and Hardie board siding, and siding work carries a 5-year workmanship warranty.
What to ask any roofer before you sign
Most bad roofing jobs start with a quote that was vague. Ask every roofer you are considering these five things, us included.
- Will I get the quote in writing, and by when? A quote that never arrives is the most common complaint in local reviews.
- What is in the scope, and what is not? Tear-off, decking, flashing and clean-up should each be on the page.
- Who is my contact, and how do I reach them once the job starts?
- How is my property protected, and how are nails and old material cleaned up?
- What happens if the weather moves the start date?
Our guide to what a Calgary roof replacement costs lists the line items to compare across quotes.
Why owners pick us
Three customers, three kinds of job, in their own words from Google reviews.
- On a commercial flat roof: “Excellent communication all the way through and workmanship looks great.” Patrick Wu
- On shopping around: “he was not pushy at all when I said I was still shopping around.” V Tsang
- On clean-up: “left the job site spotless no garbage, no mess, nothing left behind.” Joey C

Questions about hiring a roofer in Calgary
Should my flat roof be repaired or replaced?
Repair suits a leak at one spot on a membrane that is otherwise sound. Repeat leaks, ponding across the roof or a worn-out membrane point to replacement. See how torch-on, TPO and EPDM compare if you are replacing.
How do I choose a roofing contractor in Calgary?
Ask for a written quote by a set date, the scope in writing and one named contact. Read recent reviews for communication, clean-up and whether the final bill matched the quote.
What does a new roof cost in Calgary?
A shingle roof on a typical two-storey home runs about $5,000 to $15,000. Commercial flat roofs usually run $10 to $20 a square foot.
Does hail damage mean I need a new roof?
Not always. Bruises on a sound roof can be a repair, while damage across several slopes usually means a full roof. Ask for photos and a written description either way.
Do you work on commercial roofs as well as houses?
Yes. Flat roofs on apartment, condo and commercial buildings are a big part of our work, along with house roofs across Calgary.
Not sure which service you need?
Tell us what the roof is doing, or send photos. You get a written quote and a straight answer on whether it is a repair or a new roof.
